Who we are.
PreludeAI is an independent AI advisory practice. Frank, blunt, and grounded in actually building the thing, not just advising on it. We started it to be the voice we’d want in the room, and to give the advice we’d act on with our own money.
The view is simple. Lots of hype, very little that works. What works is rarely the obvious tool or the thing in the headlines, and it’s always specific to you. Our job is to cut through the noise and get you to it.
Independent
No reselling, no vendor kickbacks. Just our own honest view.
Grounded
Built inside the AI industry and real capital decisions.
Honest
We’ll tell you not to bother when that’s the truth.
Jack Collier
Jack founded PreludeAI. His day job is in AI infrastructure at io.net, where these systems get built, run and paid for at scale. He also advises a New Zealand investment group, through ISG / Shaw & Partners, on where to put real capital into AI.
Before AI, a career across Circle, Expedia, NatWest and NEAR Foundation, mostly on the side of technology that has to actually get used. Years of watching what gets adopted and what quietly dies, which is the judgement PreludeAI runs on.
The short version: he’s built and backed this stuff at a scale New Zealand rarely sees, and he’d rather tell you not to bother than sell you something that won’t work.
